How durable is DTG T-shirt printing?

A properly produced DTG print can remain attractive for a long time, but durability depends on production quality, the garment and how the shirt is washed and dried.

What affects DTG durability?

Pretreatment on dark garments, ink application, curing temperature and time, textile quality and the artwork itself all affect the finished print.

Wash inside out

Turning the shirt inside out reduces direct rubbing between the printed surface, the washing machine drum and other garments.

Use moderate washing temperatures

Follow the garment and print care instructions. Excessive heat and aggressive washing can accelerate wear, fading and cracking in many printed textiles.

Avoid unnecessary mechanical stress

Harsh tumble drying, ironing directly on the print and strong friction can shorten the useful life of a printed shirt. Let the care label guide you.

Normal ageing is not the same as a defect

Printed garments naturally change over repeated wash cycles. Gradual softening or slight visual change can occur even when the print was produced correctly.
